Godrej & Boise has expanded its product range with the launch of Ultra Low Temperature Freezers below 80degree C in India. Currently used for corona vaccination activities in India, it is also useful for future vaccines. Godrej & Boys are currently collaborating to provide final-stage support to vaccination centers.
Vaskins are stored at the correct temperature through state-of-the-art medical refrigeration systems made in India. Today, the state-of-the-art Ultra Low Temperature Freezers are being added to the range, further expanding the vaccine cold chain. With this, the distribution of life-saving materials, including vaccines, can be maintained below 80 C. It aims to strengthen the medical and cold chain network in India and globally.
Godrej Appliances currently deploys vaccine refrigerators ranging from two to eight degrees Celsius for the Kovacin and Kovichield vaccines, which are highly critical and are currently being offered in India. This is being done as part of the national tender received in October 2020. Medical freezers maintained at minus 20 degrees Celsius are also used for the final stage of delivery of the wax.
Newly introduced Allo Low Temperature Freezers can be used to store MRNA based vaccines being offered in other countries. The Godrej appliance currently has a capacity of 12,000 Ultra Low Temperature Freezers per year. The company says it is working to increase this to 30,000 units to meet global demand.
